Swedish Massage uses techniques which are designed to relax the muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the heart. The various movements used during a massage may affect many body systems in a number of different ways, for example if deep pressure is applied the body systems may be stimulated and if slow, gentle movements are used this can slow them down and relax them.
- Swedish Massage aims to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.
- Swedish Massage may be used for relaxation, stimulation or rehabilitation of the whole body or part of it.
- Swedish Massage may help to improve the suppleness of the muscles and improve the circulation and also reduce stress.
